With the devastating release of video 5, the case against Planned Parenthood for profiting from aborted fetal parts becomes more airtight. If the mainstream media aired these videos in a theme like “shark week” – but made it “abortion week,” public opinion would turn against abortion faster than same-sex marriage turned from no to go. The prior Apologer’s article Planned Parenthood Retaliates Against Incriminating Videos summarizes the first four videos. In this article, I comment on the fifth video released on August 4, 2015.
I welcomed the first several videos from The Center for Medical Progress because they vindicated pro-life advocates who have been warning about Planned Parenthood for decades. Many people were saddened by the media silence; even more so after abortionist Kermit Gosnell was sentenced to life in prison for snipping the spines of live babies he delivered. There was still no significant media action, even after discovering the dangerous conditions Gosnell’s abortion clinic had operated in for decades.
With this fifth video comes a feeling of dread. How much more will be uncovered? There are about a dozen total videos to be released, yet we’ve already seen Planned Parenthood sifting through a tray of body parts. View the video for yourself and then I have a few brief points.
First, Planned Parenthood CEO, Cecile Richards vehemently claims that they do not profit from the sale of fetus parts. This does not make sense in light of the evidence. In the video, the Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Melissa Farrell, uses the term “gold mine.” This is not a term people normally use when being merely compensated for expenditures. Even more devastating to Planned Parenthood, on July 29, former Director of Planned Parenthood, Abby Johnson, testified before the Texas Senate that her Planned Parenthood branch, “made about $120,000 a month selling aborted fetus tissue and organs.”
Second, Farrell’s offer in the video to provide “intact fetal cadavers” reveals a morbid implicit truth; that some babies are likely being being delivered alive. We know this had been going on throughout the abortion industry. Why? This was discovered in 2013 when abortionist Kermit Gosnell was sentenced to life in prison for killing babies delivered alive. He was, “sticking scissors into the back of the baby’s neck and cutting the spinal cord.” Gosnell used this technique because, as the Report to the Grand Jury said, “Gosnell had a simple solution for the unwanted babies he delivered: he killed them.”
Third, altering medical procedures is illegal. According to The Center for Medical Progress: “The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000 42 U.S. Code § 289g–2 – Prohibitions regarding human fetal tissue. Federal law also requires that no alteration in the timing or method of abortion be done for the purposes of fetal tissue collection 42 U.S. Code § 289g–1 Research on transplantation of fetal tissue.”
Fourth, the manner of fetal storage and handling are truly disturbing. The employ explains of the last case in the day, “it was a twin.” The video shows the Planned Parenthood’s tray with “tissue.” The tray is filed with body parts. Formed hands, arms and feet. The employee lifts a piece of flesh and as it dangles from the tweezers proclaims, “sometimes the organs come out really, really well.” The work of Planned Parenthood can be summed up with what’s found in the tray – “a little, beautiful, perfectly formed hand, gently clenched in a fist – a hand attached to an arm that had been torn from its owner’s body, and thrown in a dish swimming with body parts.”
Fifth, notice how media bias is revealed in their language: Anti-abortion group releases fifth Planned Parenthood video. The Center for Medical Progress is not called pro-Life, it is anti-abortion. The undercover investigators are “operatives.” And, in the same description as the four prior videos – this one his “heavily edited.” I’ve watched the full length videos, which are available on youtube, and fail to see how the context changes.
Finally, Planned Parenthood advocates claim that women will be deprived of vital health care if Planned Parenthood is defunded. In response to this, check out the two videos below. In the first, Hillary Clinton defends this claim. In the second, we discover the truth.
The senate vote to defund Planned Parenthood failed. But facts are stubborn things. And the facts revealed in video 5 add to the devastating case against Planned Parenthood.
